Grief & Loss

Loss is a natural part of life, but we are seldom prepared for loss.

Loss occurrs not only when someone dies, but through a variety of life changes:  the ending of a marriage through divorce, an affair or separation is a huge loss.  The loss of a job or career can be difficult to manage.  Our aging involves loss.  So does trauma and abuse.  The loss of friends and pets can be very painful.  A geographical move involves loss, so does the maturing of our children, and the aging of our parents.

Physical and mental disabilities present us with loss. Substance abuse and addictions create loss:  the loss of self, the loss of money, jobs, home, families, friends, self-esteem and self-confidence.

The grieving process can be confusing, painful and even debilitating.  Getting professional help can help you to navigate the dark twists and turns of the grief process.  I have been helping people deal with grief and loss for 14 years, and can offer comfort and support through this challenging time.
